I got up at 5:15 yesterday morning and drove to this place on the east side of Mt Timpanogos for sunrise. I was hoping for color, but the oaks are only about 1/3 the way and the aspen have not started yet. You will see a bit of red on the hillside.

It snowed here over the weekend and we had about 2 inches where I was standing at about 8,000 feet. I was home by 9:15.

CC appreciated.

The Wasatch range looks nice with a fresh mantle of snow. I love the sight of the mountains with snow but don't miss it at all.

I like this view with the sun just peeking in on the low clouds and fog.

This is really great Ben. The snow is nice as are all the low hanging clouds and mist in the valley. Lots of little details to look at. Excellent job.

I could do without snow down here, just keep it up high.

Thanks, that was part of my thinking as I took this one.

Thanks Jordan.

Love the low hanging clouds. Great image, thanks for sharing it.
Thanks Bill for the kind words.

Thanks Jefferey, I hope to get up here again next Monday. Maybe 2 weeks left before the color starts to fade.

Great layers in this. I do kind of wish there was something in the top right, but you were well rewarded for making the sunrise effort!
Thanks Kyle. This was the first frame of a large pano shot which I will show later. I saw that color forming in the south and composed just for that, before continuing on with my 3 shot pano.

Excellent shot Ben. I especially like the little snow covered tree.

Getting up and going out early is interesting, when your done shooting and look at the clock and it's only 7:45 am... and passing all the people just heading up into the place you just left and had to yourself...

Thanks Jim, it was really quiet up there.

Thanks Craig. there was nobody up there except a few hunters camping out. The roads were empty until I got back to town. I hardly ever see other photographers up this far.

Lovely, Ben. Very well worth the early start! The white of the snow and the low cloud in the valley look great with that russet tinge on the slopes. I bet the aspens will really add to the scene.
