Migration time

It is the time for the Fall migration of the shorebirds. some will stay and some will move further south for the winter. I think this flock will be moving on, not there one hour, there the next, and gone the rest of the day. Plenty of food for them but there was an urgency to the feeding I don't usually see with our resident flocks.

What kind of bird are these? The head markings don't look like terns and the overall markings seem too uniform to be sea gulls.

I am starting to see tundra swans arriving down here for the winter.
