This is a place I have not been before. This is a pretty well restored old building.

The contrast between the brick facade and the stone masonry on the rest of the building is curious. I would think that bricks would cheaper than quarried stone.

Hi Jim, there is not much left of the old buildings and mining sites, but worth a visit. The easiest way the get there is to take the road between Idaho Springs and Central City. Just before reaching Central City, there is a turn off on the left of the road leading to Navadaville. A refreshing site of the old west compared to the craziness of present day Balck Hawk and Central City! ;)

Thank you for your comments and observations Alan, appreciated! The town suffered a massive fire in 1861, but was rebuilt and flurished until the gold ran out about the turn of the century. ;)
