My original post of M51 was over processed. I could not figure out how to delete the original post?
Anyway, I think this a better stab at processing

But you be the judge!. Feel free to comment on both or this image in particular.

See anything I can improce on?

Still just over 5 hours of Integration time.

I hadn't looked at the original version until now, and yes, this one is much, much better. I like that you've attained a reddish core of the spiral arms and a bluish halo. and the long, faint tails from the tidal interaction are showing. My only suggestion is there is some blotching in the sky background and a slightly higher black point may help.

Also, that faint blue patch near the edge of the field at 1 o'clock is where the 7th magnitude star SAO 44642 should be. What happened?

Hey Ed,

I have been traveling the highways and byways of Utah and now Colorado. Tonight I got a clear sky, at about 8,000 feet and it's 30 degrees out and I have set up my Astro gear and am imaging the Rosette for a few hours before it sets.

So somehow it feels appropriate while I am imaging to see your M51. I will say that it's a huge improvement! You really have so many great things going on with this one. Love the detail and coloring in the arms so much. And you have a lot of great detail in the arms.

I hate to say it could even be improved because it looks so great, but if there was one thing I would watch, it would be stretching it a bit too far. It looks like a few areas are really close to being blown out with a loss of detail? But I hate to even be picky at all since this looks really awesome.

This is very nice and much better than the original. It's far better than my recent attempt. I would be very happy if I can get close to this!
