Lupine Light

This is from last night on the appropriately named Lupinr trail in Crested Butte. I met up with @Alisa here yesterday and we are chasing some early wildflowers.

This is straight out of the camera. I went to do some quick editing, but felt that any adjustment in light, or contrast really altered the soft light mood of the Forest shadows as the sun had just set.

Looks like you have timed the wildflowers well - good start for your shooting sessions.

That is a lovely image, Jim. The only thing I would change is that little sliver of aspen bole in the upper left of the image. The light and the composition are perfect.

Jim, I don't think you need to do much post-processing, the lupines are gorgeous enough.

It was mainly Lupine. Last Dollar Road down by Ridgway has a better selection though not as many by the fences.

Question: How are the wild flowers in the Crested Butte area this early in the season?

The Crested Butte Wildflower festival starts on the 7th, so the flowers should be pretty good now. You have to pick the right places/altitudes, of course, but the locals e.g. Chamber of Commerce will be able to tell you which trails are best.
