Lonely Tree

Welcome to FocalWorld Ron!

This is such an awesome IR image! Love that spot of light, perfect timing for you. And it’s a single tree! Try as I might, all of the trees I find are married and have families… :)

Welcome to the forum Ron.

That is just a great image. The spotlight is on that lone tree. The B&W conversion is pretty good as well.

Thanks for all your awesome comments. You won't believe it but I shot this image hand held out of the driver's side window of my car. I just got an EOS 6d II converted at LifePixel and this was one of the first images I shot. I stopped the car in the middle of the road and hung the camera out. I framed using Live View. When I originally processed it, the foliage was white with a blue sky. It looked pretty good, but I think it looks much better this way. I really like the traditional B&W IR, especially the contrasty stuff.

That’s pretty cool Ron! Thanks so much for the back story on this. I can picture you with you camera out the window. I know there are lots of times I just stop the car and shoot quick. It’s great to have the camera ready.

I agree I like the white/blue contrast but sometimes going B&W is just so powerful. Are you processing your photos in ACR and Photoshop?
