Line cabin in Cathedral Valley

We hiked the short trail down to this cabin on the way out of Cathedral Valley.

The state of preservation of the wood in this structure speaks volumes about the arid conditions in this locale. This is in better shape than a lot of the stabilized buildings in Bodie. This may not look like a cozy abode but it would be a welcome sight for herder looking to get out of the wind on a winter's day.

Very nice, Ben. I love the way wood weathers in arid climates. It is in neat contrast between the grays of more humid climates.
