Lilium in Yellow

A vivid yellow lily starting its bloom in our garden. Fairly bright direct sunlight with shadow behind the bloom did an excellent job of isolating the subject with no masking efforts on my part at all.

Thanks Jim - I didn't have to lift a finger to make the background go dark. I simply failed to bring up the shadows in post - it looked like this straight out of the camera

Thanks Jameel - I usually try to avoid direct sunlight on blooms but in this case it worked quite well.

Thanks Beth - the wide light range helped a lot here as I exposed for the sunlit bloom and the shadowed background went nearly black.
