This is an HDR I got when I was at Marlboro Point in 2015. I had was ready to quit for the evening when I looked east from the point and saw the rising moon. I thought the clouds, moon and cliffs made a nice shot. If you look close, you can see the Dead Horse Point campground across the way.

I don't have any image without a blown moon, so you just have to let it blow. I will show the HDR and then offer the straight out of camera converted to JPG in the follow up reply.

Show us what you can do with it.

This looks like a fun one to play around with Ben.

I am heading to the beach for a bit, but when I get back I will download your originals and see what I can come up with.

Okay here is mine! I violated a bunch of rules here. I decided I wanted some detail in the moon, and since we are just playing with this and it's not our real images, I borrowed a moon shot from Trona last weekend I took and masked it in. Well, along with the major thing I did was warm up the sky.

I also only used the last SOOC image Ben had posted. I didn't use the + and - ones.

Nice Jim, and yes, this did not really need HDR, I was going through a phase when I liked the outcome, but have since learned other methods.

One great thing I always learn in these exercises is how other people see a scene in terms of color, clarity and overall brightness. This has a very natural look.

Thanks Ben. I think its good to provide all 3 exposures as it can be a good lesson to some people. I can't tell you how many times I am out shooting and taking 1 shot, and someone around me is take 5 or 6 shots of the same scene. Sometimes people need to learn to evaluate their scene they are shooting and not bracket multiple exposures if it's not needed.
