Lesser Sandhill Cranes

From the second day last week at the Merced National Wildlife Refuge in Central California. Early morning activity and takeoffs from their overnight roosting area. Sony a1 in super 35 mode at 60fps with 4K HDR depending on your monitor. Sony FE 100-400 lens. A standard dynamic range version in 4K is the second options.

Nice work. Love to hear their call. I really like the later shots with some early morning light on the cranes. Your flight shots are also very well done. Fun to see some ibis.

This is really great Jim! There is a lot I like about this video.

A couple of things that stand out. I like the clips where you have birds floating in the water with birds flying in the background. It's cool to visually see the contrast between resting and action. But I also really like the action clips where the birds are flying and you are tight on them. How are you getting that movement so smooth as you are panning with the moving flying birds? It's really well done.

Yes, Jim, panning with the flying birds. Practice makes better. I'm also slowing down the video to 75% in some of the flight clips, which is why I shot at 60fps. I'm also stabilizing the video in the NLE. DaVinci has a good stabilizer function. A combination of techniques I guess. Were you able to view the video in HDR on your monitor?
