Last Dollar Road

One evening on my way back from Lizard Head Pass, I was cruising by Last Dollar Road and noticed how beautiful the light was and couldn't help but stop and snap a few shots. (5-26 -2018) I'm glad I did, I first processed this in color, which was nice....but then I got playing around with the idea of B&W, and really like the way it presented.

A very nice dreamy look Amy! I like Last Dollar road and this is a very nice capture of it. Good choice with the B&W.

It has an almost dreamy look to it with the soft focus. Nice mood for the scene.
Thanks Alan! As you get to know my, work you'll see that I tend to lean more towards the softer look and more on the art side of photography. Although I do enjoy very much the images on here that are shown in a more sharper clearer detail. We all have our own distinct style for sure, and I think that's what makes a site like this so interesting.

Very interesting. The soft focus does impart a dreamy quality. Did you use a filter on the lens or do that in post?

Did you notice what looks like a halo effect above the right hand hill? Not sure if that is the actual look of the clouds or a processing artifact. If it were mine I'd try cropping off some of the sky.

Darn road shots, just makes me want to go...
The faded shadows across the road add a nice touch, but the fence is what caught my eye.

This is the original shot. I like it much better in the B&W, I think it adds much more drama.
