Hi Bob,

Probably the biggest issue here is the lack of sharpness. That could be a result from downsizing the photo for the web, or it could be you didn't take a sharp image. I also think I would have preferred a slower shutter speed, somewhere in the 1/5th of a sec range to get the water to spray up instead.

The beach is a tough subject on an overcast day such as that. A day in which you have a high "blanket" of clouds rather than the low laying ones that can create different light.

I think I would have got the camera low and concentrated on the green and brown/red transition and left out the water and sky. Kind of like one of the Palouse images that was posted here where all you see is the green rolling hills.

Thank you for that idea. I will give that a try next time.
