Shot from the car on a winter trip to Kananaskis - one of my favourite areas in the Canadian Rockies. In 2006 it was a good quieter than it is now. Even today, very different from driving the Banff-Jasper highway!
Very nice, Martin. This is one of my favorite places as well. As a geologist I really appreciate the spectacular folding and faulting in this part of the Canadian Rockies. Mt. Kidd is one of the best places to see it and you have captured it beautifully.Shot from the car on a winter trip to Kananaskis - one of my favourite areas in the Canadian Rockies. Thanks Jim! They crowd even more as you get to that corner at the bottom of the hill!Hey Martin,
What a really nice road shot. Boy the peaks sure tower over the road!
That whole area is gorgeous but this part is one of the best. My grandfather G.W. Tyrrell was a geologist at Glasgow University. I don't think he made it to The Rockies but he certainly went to the Arctic Circle on field trips and mapped quite a lot of Scottish Geology. I'm afraid it didn't rub off on me though being Scientifically illiterate!Very nice, Martin. This is one of my favorite places as well. You must get there Alan. Barry, Bart, Ute and I discussed a reunion up here...... but it never came to anything :-( We have to try to get you yanks to come out of the States more! That is a road I want to drive. I have flown over that area but never gone through it on the ground.
Thanks Ben! I really like taking road shots - especially in mountain country!Great road shot.
