Went out with some friends yesterday to a place in Henderson near the bird preserves called Pabco Trail. They have made Vegas Wash into a river & Weirs, which run all the way to the lake. It is a pretty cool place for hiking and saw everything from Mallards to Birds of Prey. Saw my first Grey Ghost Harrier, tons of Red Tail & Cooper Hawks, Prairie Falcons, Great Blue Herons, Osprey, Cormorant. Unfortunately for me my lens has a heck of a hard time focusing on flying birds so I have to stick with stationary ones if I am fortunate enough they don't immediately fly off :).

Very nice Darcy! That's cool to have an area with that many birds in it for you.

Maybe Santa will bring you a faster longer lens for shooting birds? This isn't the first time you have been "grounded" by your lens.

Very true. I loved this lens when I first got it, but I think I have worn it out hahahah. It seems to be having a focus problem & has really slowed down on the auto focus. It used to focus well on flying birds but alas..no more.
