Thanks to everyone for your kind comments. There are several woodland and prairie areas that offer all kinds of these types of images. There was an organization called "Chicago Wilderness" for which I did photography until it finally collapsed for lack of funding. That was a shame.

Doug, what a cool place you found! The Midwest somehow feels very desolate when it comes to landscapes compared to our grand mountains, deserts etc out in the west. But now you have me second guessing that concept.

Thanks for your kind comment, Jim. I think that you can find great images anywhere if you look hard enough. I bet if I took you to the Midwest in the spring you would absolutely love it. Of course, I love the Southwest or I wouldn't have moved here.
