Hey guys!

This was taken 4 years ago, but re-processed recently, pretty expensive shot i'd say, after this session, i slipped on my way out of the water, fell in the knee deep sea, holding my tripod with the camera, and totally covered by incoming wave.
Its hard to me to say, was it worth it, the shot is pretty unique, but the price of being without the camera for more than 3 years, was pretty heavy on me, no to mention i was paying for that camera/lens combo for the next 2.5 years.
Anyway, someone suggested i post the image, but he did not know it came with the story...:D

I like the shot but hate hearing the tale that went along with it. Ouch.

This is why I have insurance on my camera gear. I have spent far more than I really should have on nice glass and camera bodies and to lose it all by slipping on some rocks next to ocean waters would be curtains for my photo habit.

Wonderful shot, sorry for the camera loss - I've always worried about similar mishaps in the mountains, but never dropped one.

Ha ha, that guy who suggested that you post this photo must sure be one awesome guy!!!

This is really cool looking. Love the action in the water and that sweet color! I can relate to your story since my D700 suffered the same fate as your camera since I had neglected to pay for swimming lessons for it. Losing the D700 hurt for a very long time. :(

Nice water action and reflection! Sucks that happened. I have had more close calls than I can count. My 1Ds I had was a 1/4 submerged near Cape Kiwanda, and she never missed a beat. I was really lucky!

This might be the best one yet, Andrey. I too recommend that you get insurance. I have crashed more than once. I have dropped cameras , knocked them over, slipped on ice and fell backwards on my camera bag and watched he wind blow over my tripod with the camera on it. None of those incidents had good endings.

Absolutely gorgeous scene. I used to always worry about breaking and losing equipment as well (and have experienced it), but insurance has helped alleviate those fears.

Really nice light & water action, Andrey. I found out the hard way that my CPS coverage only covered repairs that Canon thought was worth it. If it exceeded that amount & wasn't worth them fixing it, I was S.O.L. This happened when my battery melted down in my 1Dx & ruined it.
