In honor of Ben Egbert, I am resurrecting "Salvage Saturday" today.

Ben's "Salvage Saturday" was always a fun endeavor. The goal was to find an image in your archives or something new you might have overlooked that could be transformed into a respectable image with our newer technology. The image below from my most recent trip triggered the thought that this image might work. The hordes of people on the rockpile where every photographer feels the need to take the trite image of Moraine Lake makes it untenable to take an image without dealing with endless cloning endeavors. I still had to clone five people out of this image.

Please take the time to rework an image and contribute to this thread in memory of Ben.

Glad you decided to jump in and revive this weekend endeavor - it was always one of my favorites as well. Nice work with this one.

My salvage job is from a hike on one of the trails in Bryce Canyon from 2013. Horrid lighting conditions but happily I knew it at the time and took two exposures to stretch the range of light I could blend to get this result.

Thanks for doing this Doug!

And what a great image you started it off with. I am running up to NW Minnesota in hope for an Aurora tonight. I currently can see Canada to the north across the river, so I may not be able to Salvage any photos today.

Alan, this is really nice work, these pine trees are very resilent.

Glad you've shared this serene beauty with us Doug––this reflection is one of the better examples I've seen in its use in a composition. Nice!

Good forethought in your exposures, worked well here is this "salvage"—love the winding trail through the red rock.
