Humming Along

I've been house/plant sitting for a former neighbor (I sold my house, so maybe I'm the "former") and decided to take advantage of them having several hummingbird feeders. Colorado tends to have a lot of Rufous hummingbirds. They can be pretty aggressive, chasing all others away. When I've gone out to refill the feeders, they come buzzing around, eager to drink their fill. They've even come inside the house, so I've raised the number of hummingbirds I've caught in my hands from 1 (probably about 33 or 34 years ago) to 3. These were much easier than the 1st one, probably because they were totally focused on the feeders. I'd love to catch 2 of them squabbling, but I don't think I could ever frame & focus them. I'm sure that Eric could confirm whether or not they are immature and/or males. Or Rufous, for that matter.

Very nice. Our regulars are mostly Anna's and they are pretty skittish to try to get near enough to shoot like this.
