How Can I Direct Your Call?

A couple of Peeping Tom shots through the glass in Bodie. There were a number of buildings in Bodie that have been left in states of decay that spoke volumes about what life was like towards the end of the town still having occupants.

The local telco:

And one of the pool halls:

The kitchen at the back of the pool hall might have a job opening for a short order cook......

C&C always welcome.

When I worked in telecom, I visited a central office to see how they worked as we sold them racks and patch cords. I imaging these are becoming scarce everywhere as twisted pair becomes a thing of the past.

The big central office switches are starting to die off but it's been a long slow path. Lots of local loop copper still rules the land line business for last mile connectivity.

These are cool Allen. Nice work, I need to dig through my archives as I have tons of Bodie shots.

The 2nd one made we wonder about how well made some of those items were. That pool table still appears to be in very good shape for being over 100 years old.

If my feeble memory serves me correctly it was your shots of Bodie over on FM many years ago that first placed Bodie on my radar screen as a place to visit :)

Curious that the old pool table has no pockets. It is also missing the rail along the end that is facing the camera.
