Here's my latest Horsehead Nebula. It's from fairly dark skies in New Mexico last month.

Image Frames:
10x360 seconds 1x1 Luminance
10x240 seconds 2x2 RGB + Ha
Calibrated with dark, bias, and flat frame stacks for each color

Equipment:
QSI-683 camera
MyT telescope mount
Takahashi FSQ-85 at 384 mm EFL

Software:
Pixinsight
Lightroom Classic

Thanks for looking and feedback is always welcome!

This is an amazing photo! Great job getting such detail in this. It's so cool seeing the waves of color in this. You have certainly been a great addition to FocalWorld Daniel!

That is absolutely hypnotizing to stare at when I click through to the larger size and go near full screen. The deep levels of detail are simply amazing. Thanks for sharing this.

Yes Dan, I have already gushed about this one to you in person, but very happy you have put it here on FW to let everyone enjoy it. The depth of detail and richness of color are really impressive. I have an image of this area that I like, but it is no where near as detailed as this. All those extra clouds of dust and gas give this so much more to really look at and appreciate. And getting enough signal integrated to start to show some color in the Horsehead itself makes this really special. The same goes for the large regions of glowing gas - the addition of the Ha filtered frames are really adding great contrast and detail to that portion of the image as well. And of course, that dark Abiquiu Reservoir location under a new moon sky sure doesn't hurt either :)

Stupendous result - time for the rest of us to have another go at this region!

Thanks all! Yes, dark sky made this job a lot easier and it was well worth the trip out away from the city lights!
