This reservoir is at 9,000 feet, but only about 15 miles from home and up a rough road.

Hi Jim. It's about a 45 minute drive, I have spent the night here as it is also a good sunset location. The inlet stream was so fast this year it put the ripple on the water even though it was windless.Hey Ben,
That is some nice light on this. And the snow speckled peaks? Any time you can get that it's an added bonus. Though the reflection isn't a mirror, its still reflecting the colors off of the mountains which adds to the image.
How long does it take to drive those 15 miles?
Jim
Thanks Alan. As I said above, the ripple was from the inlet stream so I added my 6 stop nd to tame it a bit.Nice scene - I'd love to have that within 15 miles from home. The light and clouds are delightful. Looks like a long enough exposure to keep the water surface from being choppy.
Thanks Travis, easy to remove, but I decided to leave them in. I had a version without, maybe I can find it and post it, or just remove them again.Wonderful scene Ben, nice light and composition. The two little twigs in the water on both lower corners are asking to be removed if you don't mind doing things like that.
I thought about cropping out that tree.I can see how the twigs could act like anchors in the corners. I'm not sure about the tree on the left myself. I really like the mountains, reflections and clouds though!
ThanksBeautiful Ben. You are a lucky man to live so close to perfectness.
Thanks Sasha, I will see what I can do.Ben, beautiful image, love the soft light and the colors. Little twigs are nice, but the tree asks to be removed from the frame. Only I wouldn't crop it because then the twig will go away too. Maybe use "transform", and pull it a bit left and up?
Sasha
