Hedrick Pond

Hey Ben,

This is looking good! I like that glow in the clouds to the upper right. Having Hedrick pond in the shot is a nice compositional bonus. I like that area for shooting the Tetons, I have hiked back in to some of the areas to the east, like this one and they all offer some interesting and different views.

On a side note, linking your image from the Media Gallery does seem to then post a downsized version of it here into the thread. Clicking on it does increase the size to what is loaded into the Media Gallery, so a larger view can be seen. I will have to look into why it is downsizing it in the first place. And thanks for using the Media Gallery, it's great to see people taking advantage of the Galleries!

Very nice - glad you composed this with the clouds in the upper right. The colors and the shafts of precipitation add a nice touch to the scene.

Thanks Jim, I also noted the downsizing, I keep them at 1600 wide max or 800 vert, And thanks for allowing 1600 wide, I really appreciate the improvement in viewing this size.

Thanks Alan, I need to get used to using quotes. This was a three image stitch and I wish I had gotten more sky as there was more of those clouds.

Love the composition. The thing that sticks out to me is the perceived line that seems to exist between the base of the mountains and the foreground lowlands. It's as though triangles came straight up out of the ground and sitting on top of the lowlands.

Thanks, that Snake River plain has filled it all in, it is flat isn't it?

Beautiful scene Ben, and the processing looks great as well. If I was picking nits I'd love to see a little more on the right side.
Thanks, I also wish this was wider so I could crop 16x9. I did 3 vertical images and should have done 4. Previsualization for a stitched image is still something I am working on.

Well done on this, Ben. I agree about the right side and note your comment. I don't normally try stiched panos but I can see that this sort of pre-vizulisation could be a problem - a big on for me! :D

Thanks martin, yes, I am still working on this. I sometimes print 16x45 and when stitched, the detail is amazing.
