Hazy Portland

I am still doing a lot of experiments with camera settings and processing for my Mavic 4 Pro with the limitation of not getting much in the way of nice flying weather. When it hasn't been raining the visibility has been impaired by lots of fog and haze but I have been determined to get up to play more every chance I get. I did get a break in the rain yesterday but was met with fairly hazy skies. I did grab this shot looking south from over my house over Vancouver's industrial area towards downtown Portland. For the record the tall buildings in downtown Portland are just over 13 miles away so the haze was fairly notable. Single frame at 168mm.

C&C always welcome.

The image quality looks decent under these conditions. Is this a 12MP image or a 50MP? Would be interesting to see a side by side comparison of the same view taken with a Mavic 3 vs Mavic 4. I am not too impressed with the 166mm lens on the Mavic 3. Its good under good light.

I have been toying with the idea of upgrading to the 4 but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Thanks Jameel - This is using the 50MP mode. I need to dig out a similar view from my old Mavic 3 Pro using the 166mm lens as a comparison. The 168mm on the Mavic 4 Pro seems to be a very different beast than the older 166mm as I am seeing details with the 4 Pro I have never seen before both on the controller screen as well as on my monitor. I take a lot of drone images for my own perusal just as a reference for what things look like from the air and this has opened a whole new viewing experience for me. Most of the reviews I read on the Mavic 4 Pro last summer led me to think the upgrade wasn't really earth shattering but I am pretty much blown away at how much better the 28mm and 168mm cameras really are. The 70mm is a bit better but it was pretty good on the 3 Pro to begin with.

I have yet to get out with the 4 Pro under ideal lighting conditions - can you order some up for me? :)

This looks really nice, I am thinking though B&W and raise the contrast to beat the haze.
Thanks Jim - I should play around with B&W as that might be the ticket for these conditions. I've got nothing but a lot more conditions like this for a while to come right now. I did try raising the contrast and some lighting tricks in Photolab 9 but at least in color the results didn't yank my chain.
