Garden of the Gods .. Today

We wend down to Colorado Springs this morning. The weatherman said the smoke was cleared down there and there would be afternoon showers. Well he lied about the first part and was right on time with the clouds and rain. So I did not get the images I set out to get and was caught in traffic jams going down and coming home. I did not take many photos, the mountains were obscured all day by smoke and clouds.

Kathleen and I had a nice day together that was really nice in total!

The smoke is pretty thick in the background of the first page. Doesn't look too bad in the second one until you look back at the distant mountains on the left. Traffic jams suck and they will be nuts this weekend.

Hey Larry,

There are not many things worse then traffic jams in Colorado. I have found that Coloradans have this weird passive/aggressive attitude when it comes to driving that makes bad traffic even worse. So I totally feel you on that.

It's funny, when I got back to California a few weeks ago, one of the first things I had to do was go drive for an hour on the freeway. You might have started to notice that I am a bit different... so much that I actually had missed LA traffic...

It's great you and Kathleen had a great time! Being with the right person can totally make up for bad times.

And you might not have gotten many photos, but from the look of these 2, you still came away with some nice photos.

I know there is a lot of light pollution at night from Colorado Springs in Garden of the Gods, but I am toying with going down there when I get back and capturing the Milky Way from there. It's still in the idea stage, I might not have time as when I get back my daughter has a bit of work that needs to be done on her house that I will have to do.
