Went through some of the tutorials, and I believe I have a little better understanding of how IR photography works. And its fascinating!
Decided I would take a short drive to Galisteo and practice what I have learned so far.

C&C's please!

Very cool set Sonny!

I like all of these. I agree with Ben that first one is really special. I debate on the mail box. It’s kind of quirky to see, but it also could distract.

#3 is neat with those dual bushes. I like the orange/gold color they turn so I always like when they can be included in a shot.

What camera did you get converted again? And what lens are you using? Did you get any hot spots in these?

Thanks guys, and yeah the mailbox does take away from that cool gate and gaslights, but I do like the sunlight reflecting off of it.

My D300, and my old Sigma 17-35 f2.8 Aspherical. I found out that with this lens, stopping down to f22 created the hot spot. So this time I was shooting between f8 - f10 at speeds around 1/1000 - 1/2500 and there were no hot spots that I could see. I also tried to adjust the WB presets, but the camera didnt like that. So I adjusted the Kelvins in LV until I liked what I saw.

It appears you have learned to play with the IR output quickly - these look more like what I expect to see with IR photography. I like all three of these.

Thanks Alan, I was off work today and spent some time this morning educating myself. ;) And I am really glad I went Full Spectrum, as the color IR is really fascinating me. My plan is to invest in some of the other filters at a later date.

Really nice results. Looks like you have a way to overcome the hotspots. I normally never go f/22 anyway even with regular images.
Thanks Jameel, I'm pleased with the outcome of these test images as well. Really excited about the possibilities here, and I was a little worried about this lens, but I think it is going to work out great!

This looks like a winning setup! You have me rethinking about going to Full Spectrum conversion instead of the IR conversion.

I think it is as well! After @Amy Nelson's comment about Full Spectrum, I started doing the comparisons and decided I wanted that flexibility it provides. IMHO I think you would not regret the decision if you went that route. ;-)
