Are you bothered with this obnoxious plant in the US, It is an enemy of everyone except wild Turkeys, who love its cover, it can be burned off but the seeds survive, I played around with this picture, My replacement Sky is the wrong color
We have a very similar plant here in the western US called Scotch Broom. Someone brought that plant in from Scotland to try to stabilize the sand dunes on the Oregon coast and went wild almost immediately. The hillsides in Bandon, Oregon are completely infested with the stuff. It can make colorful pictures from a distance but up close the bloom isn't very photogenic.
I get gorse and scotch broom mixed up from a distance.
Broom and Gorse look similar from a distance but the colours are slightly different. Close up they are unmistakable, Gorse has long, tough and very sharp spines Broom does not. They both brighten up the Scottish landscape, there are even songs about Broom but I know of none about Gorse. Ken
