Frosty Day up the Mountain Loop

The Mountain Loop Hwy is my go to mountain playground. It 's just a 20 minute drive to the first trail from my house in Lake Stevens. I wasn't sure where I'd end up yesterday since I got a late start. The frost on the rocks and branches in the valley caught me though so I just walked around a few of my favorite riverside spots and skipped a real hike since all the parking lots were packed on the weekend (the luxury of being retired - the weather is supposed to be perfect into next week so I can return then for a hike).

Hey Jim,

These are pretty cool looking. Several actually like IR images because of the frost/ice. I really like #1, which if you had asked me before I would have picked as an IR. And I like the last one with the flakes of frost on the rock.

I second Jim Fox's comments about the almost IR look with the frost. That last image is a really good study in frost formation.

All pleasing images that are processed nicely. Really well done with the contrast in the last few!
