Great shot. I also wanted a TS lens for many years, but couldn't afford one. With focus stacking I've lost the desire.

In this case it's the ability of the shift function to fix perspective for a shot like this one.
Exactly. Tilt would be used for adjusting the plane of focus.

With shots like this, which used to be really frustrating to me (because there are a lot of towers around here) you would take it, and then start noticing the background features all distorted, stretched out or tilted, or one tower is crooked compared to the other. Some people will try and fix that in Photoshop, but one adjustment leads to another and I just want to take the picture and not mess with all that stuff. If you use the tilt-shift right, that eliminates those type problems, although you do have to manually focus which is another can of worms.
