It's finally here!
We will be upgrading the Forum Software early Friday morning the 24th, about 2am. Hopefully most of you will be sleeping through this. I don't know exactly what time it will be back up and running, but if you get a Forum not available just check back in another hour.
What to expect?
1. The forum might look slightly different. It will be the same basic layout, though it might start up with a single column listing the subforums instead of a dual column as we have now.
2. The colors may not be exactly the same, though I will strive to make them similar. There probably won't be any color options for those of you who had chosen different colored themes in the past. We will all have to suffer with it to start.
3. For those that use the Gallery, I just found out late yesterday that there is a complaint that the photos don't display to their full resolution. I read that for now people are right clicking on the photo if they want to see it full resolution and it opens in a new window then at it's full large size. I can't confirm or deny this aspect since we won't know for sure until it's all upgraded.
4. There will no longer be a Daily Featured Post, we will though be slowly transitioning to an even more powerful Feature Post Addon that will allow for multiple Feature Posts, it may even become part of the home screen.
5. The Article Management System did not get upgraded, so we will be redesigning that. There may be no Articles for a few weeks until we figure that out.
Since I was up all last night shooting Deep Space Astro I haven't slept in 36 hours so I think that's the main things that come to mind. If anyone else remembers anything else important, please let me know.
