Hello folks

Just joined the forum and here are a couple of images from the Grand Tetons taken last fall. Plan to print them and would appreciate any feedback on any aspect of the images from composition to processing.

Welcome - a nice way to introduce yourself.

Really nice takes on some iconic scenes. The reflections in the first one are quite nice. It might just be my monitor but both of these seem just a little bit on the bright side for the peaks and clouds. If you are going to have a lab do the prints they will be able to advise you on the dynamic range that will work best for the media you are going to use. That can vary and doesn't always match what we see on our screens.

Hey Jameel,

Welcome to FocalWorld! It's awesome to have you here and I hope you feel at home in the growing community here.

You have 2 very iconic shots, well worth printing! Both of these look pretty good, for me there is nothing major to have an issue with. I will agree with Alan that I think the brights could be tweaked down just a tad bit. It's close enough that it could be just differences between monitors, and close enough you might just want to do a smaller test print of each. In #2, the whole image is just a hair on the bright side, if it was mine, I would darken the midtones, just ever so slightly. Just a hair more to add a bit more depth to the image. I do like all those fall color leaves on the ground in #2, they make for a nice carpet!

Welcome to the forum, glad to see your first post here, a good one by the way.

I agree these are a touch bright for monitor viewing, but might be nice in print which is often darker. As Jim points out, a test print is always a good idea. I print at home and know my system well, but often need a test print anyway. In any event, I expect that you will hang these on your walls with pride.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes I plan to do some test prints - I do print at home. Will play a bit with the brights on both.
