This guy was walking fast, I had to capture it fast, because 2 seconds later I was gone.
Yesterday I was driving through Los Angeles during rush hour. And since the freeways were just creeping along, I decided to get off the freeway and drive through LA on the side streets. I had my camera with me, so I wanted to do some street photography. I rolled down the passenger window (perhaps not the safest thing to do in LA
), and then set my camera lens to about 50mm and aimed it towards the window towards interesting subjects.
Even the side roads were slow, lot's of traffic in LA, and lot's of lights at all of the street corners. So for the most part I was driving slow, or if I saw something, like this guy walking I would slow my truck down a bit more. And in this case, while driving forward I mentally kept the camera aimed on the guy, so that the background got a bit blurred since I was moving, creating a panning effect.
I converted this to B&W, though the color wasn't bad. But I thought B&W works best with Street Photography.
