Fall Training

Today was likely the end of good fall leaf viewing with several storms queued up to spoil the show. I wandered up to Rooster Rock State Park and got some amazing aerial shots of fall colors. I have lived up here for 25 years now and I honestly can't recall a fall color show like what we just got over the last week.

This is one shot from today where I finally managed to catch a train at a nice bend in the tracks. I confess that this is really the back of the train as it went past but it was the easiest way to get one in this position.

Thanks Kurt - usually last week of October/first week of November. This year was late and more intense than usual.

Thanks Jim - I spotted the bend a couple of weeks ago flying in the area so I raced over to the aerial viewpoint when the train was coming through so I could shoot it as it passed. I photoshopped the light from red to white to make the rear locomotive look like it was coming towards me
