Blooming rabbitbrush in Pine Creek Canyon - Eastern Sierra, Ca. Oct. 2023
Thanks, Alan. Very few people photgraph this canyon for some reason. I think it's interesting.Subtle earthen fall palette in this canyon scene. I like this view of the distant peaks and the indirect light below.
Thanks again, Trent.Great composition Kurt. I like the way I'm guided down the canyon.
The rabbitbrush was in full bloom that's for sure!Nice pocket of yellow in the granite.
Thanks, Jim. This was a morning image. Not many people photograph this canyon but I find it interesting.Love that early morning light (?) in this. That's a really beautiful canyon. I really like the starkness of those peaks in the background.
I hiked up to slot canyon down below to check it out. I think climbers call it Scheelite Canyon. Pretty rugged area. Right off the bat! There are three brutal trailheads at the end of this canyon, a tungsten mine that at one time produced most of the tungsten in the world, and one well-known rock climbing area. Pretty sure I might have contracted West Nile virus on one of the trails starting from this canyon last summer...
The rabbit brush has gone bonkers over the past few weeks around here!
I was going to say the same thing as Alan! This one flows nicely to the peaks. Got to say I need to visit the Eastern Sierra. It's been too long!Blooming rabbitbrush in Pine Creek Canyon - Eastern Sierra, Ca. Oct. 2023View attachment 66016
