Fall at Cape Horn

Cape Horn on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge offers some really nice views of the Gorge and the Oregon side of the river. That said the best view of fall colors at Cape Horn are from the Oregon side of the river since the colors are directly below the cliffs. This is one such view taken from the air above Rooster Rock last October with early fall colors on display. The Rooster Rock beaches in the foreground are all under water this time of year. Single frame taken at 70mm with my old Mavic 3 Pro.

Nice view and the sprinkling of reds is a nice addition to the greens and yellows. I have only even viewed this from the WA side.

Thanks Jameel - the Cape Horn viewpoint is actually just around the corner so this particular slope can only be seen from the Oregon side. Hwy 14 is near the top of the slope in this view. You can see this at Crown Point which is above and behind where I shot this from.

Thanks Jim - we are somewhat deprived for the full spectrum of fall colors but this was a pretty good year by our standards.
