European Mantis

My understanding is the Carolina praying mantis and the Arizona praying mantis are the only ones native to North America. The other fifteen species were introduced. This mantis was found inside my house. I captured him and held him for a few minutes then placed him on Russia Salvia for a photo. I used a 90 mm macro lens, a flash with a diffuser, and a light panel background. After the photoshoot, I released him outside.
