Emerald Lake Sunset

Beautiful scene - nice cloud colors and that greenish tint to the water is a neat contrast to the snow and the skies.

I appreciate that Alan! Yeah, it was nice to see the greenish tint pull out of the ice, everything is frozen solid up at that altitude and it was in the lower 20's up there. I don't often feel the need for using the heat packs, but I definitely had to keep 1 in each glove to keep my fingers from going numb even in my insulated gloves.

Nice shot of one of my favorite place in RMNP. Did you need snowshoes to get up there when you took this?

This is Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain NP. It was cold with gusty winds and very fast moving clouds. It is a fun cool place to shoot, and one that I plan to get back to and shoot the stars from later.

All thoughts are welcome,
Jim

Thanks Jim, glad you liked it. I had snowshoes with, but never needed to put them on. The trail was beaten down enough that it wasn't an issue.

Hi Jim,

That is a beautiful lake in the snow and for having a beaten down trail the lake looks pristine. I've only spent one day in November in RMNP, but apparently it's the place to go when the Sierra is a forsaken with drought.
