Here are a few images from Lee Vining Canyon and Lundy Canyon from last weekend. I'd love to hear which work for people and which don't.

1) Lee Vining Creek landscape version. I shared a portrait view a few days ago

Beautiful aspen color shows in all of these with #1 and #3 being my runaway favorites. #4 and #5 are both quite nice with the aspen colors and compositions with a slight nod to #5 over #4 as a compelling composition.

#2 has some nice golds and white trunks but the dead branch cluster is just too prominent and keeps my eyes drifting away from the trunks and colors behind. Dead branches can work in a lot of compositions but this cluster lacks an aesthetic that might make it interesting for my tastes.

Hey Kyle, what a great series you got. The colors are sure hanging in there a long time this year it seems.

My favorites are #1, 2 and 5.

I actually don't like #3 as it's a bit too busy at the bottom and you really can't tell it bends there as the water channel is almost hidden at the bottom. I would crop some of the bottom off, from the top of that tall yellow grass bunch and below. I think that helps it, but I still don't really care for it.

#4, I don't like that the upper right corner is sky, but it's mainly clouds. So it makes it feel a bit off balance to me as my eye keeps getting drawn up to that blue. That same spot with the camera aimed more to the left to exclude any sky could make for a good photo. Or shoot wide so the sky is the whole top of the frame?

Anyway, I really love #1, 2 and 5.
