Early Morning at the Prairie

This image was taken on a foggy morning in Somme Prairie in Cook County Illinois. The grasses are Big Bluestem which are commonly up to 4-5 feet high in Midwestern prairies. Under the right conditions they may reach 10 feet tall. The sun was muted enough by the fog so that I could actually look at it through the viewfinder and find a suitable composition.

Wow Doug! What a cool and kind of rare shot. I have seen similar shots in the past, but not very often that's for sure. Nice work with this.

Thank you to Guy, Zeph, Ben, Alan, Leslie, and Jim for your kind comments. I spent a lot of time photographing prairies when I lived in Illinois and this is one of my favorite images.
