Dragon Table and more.

Jamie Russell is a local wood worker with an abundance of talent and an matching imagination. He was over today and we took some studio shots of his latest work.
It is quite a complex technical challenge to create stable joinery for a piece like these first two. Jamie used curly maple to carve all the components of the tables. He makes the supports so the piece of glass just pushes in and locks in place with pressure.

These next two are table top size. They are very pleasing to the touch.

Wow! Jamie is a Master of woodworking! What incredible intricacy in his designs. His #2 with the gecko (?) is so awesome! What a great mind to think ahead on how that will turn out, because I think you would have to see a bit into the future to know if a piece will work.

And of course, that's some top notch photography. You must have a good sized backdrop.

Thanks Jim. I have a studio set up in my basement where I shot pieces of my friends artwork. I still have a lot to learn about lighting art work. I have recently sold my strobe lights and moved to single source LED lights. The real time view on a larger computer screen really helps to get the lighting right. Appreciate your interest.
