Love your framing, but the bright water gets all the attention instead of the tree, i would dodge and burn to make the tree stand out...
Cheers!

Very cool Mike. I am in Yosemite and about a month too early for the Dogwoods here, but it’s nice to see some.

I love the shape of that tree in this comp. Nicely seen.
How spring like.

I agree with Andrey, I’d darken the water and brighten the tree a bit.

Thanks guys, my fault but we have a case of chicken or the egg here. I probably mis-titled this image with a more appropriate title being “Stream with Dogwood” since my main interest was the turbulent water with the Dogwood as a strong secondary interest. I appreciate your honest evaluations, it helps me see and plan my shots for the best composition (and title)... Mike

I'd go pano on this, drop off the bottom half the FG white water, (though it's so beautiful) and let the Dog speak...
What a place...

You know, even though not my intent, that combined with the suggestions to tone down the water would work very well. Thanks for the suggestion... Mike

Hi Mike, great scene and I agree with the 16:9 suggestion, that and a little darkening of the water (seems a little too bright on my monitor) would make the dogwood stand out beautifully :)

Best regards,

Vieri

Thanks. Interestingly enough, the original isn't too bright on my monitor (calibrated) but after downloading it lightens. I've noticed this on most downloads to FW, so it's something I have to remember to plan for... Mike

PS: It would be interesting to know if you or others have this issue.

You are right. Mike. I have the same issue and sometimes have to go back and edit the image after I post it. BTW, I love dogwoods and redbuds in the eastern forests. Keep posting those spring images.

Thanks! Confirmation makes me feel better and now I can just make it part of my processing... Mike
