Devil's Backbone

I captured this the other day when the temps were around 10 degrees, this is about a 30 minute drive from my daughters house in Northern Colorado. It seems like it's an hour away instead of 30 minutes, maybe because you have to drive through the town of Loveland, Colorado to get there. Anyway, it's a fun place to go.

The bubbles weren't bubbling very well, so I took a break an hour before sunset to hike to the backbone, it's a couple of miles round trip depending on how far you go. The sun was low, but not set yet and it was causing these thinner clouds to glow a bit.

I got back to the parking lot where I had my frozen bubble stand set up, and the bubbles still just were popping immediately. So that was a no go, but I did get a bit of a nice hike and some nice landscape photos.

It looks more like a backbone for the side, but this ridge still looks cool I think.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

That space in the middle rock where the sun comes through really makes this image special. Great shot Jim.

Forgot about that formation. I used to ride my bike out there once in a while when I lived in Loveland back around 91-95 (not 1891 )

Nice capture !

That was a while ago Craig, are you sure it wasn't 1891? :)

I had forgotten that you lived out here.
