No, not Factory Butte. Although it's sort of imposing in the same fashion.

If I could have waited a little longer yesterday, but the gnats were in my nose, my ears, my eyes, biting away... It's one of those Utah things that happens occasionally!

I did like this location because it's so barren, and representative of real Utah.

Nice job, Craig. I have a solution for you with regard to gnats and other flying pests. Use Picaridin. It is a lotion that keeps every pest away. I went out to take an image that I thought was going to be a quick shoot so I didn't put any on. I was immediately swarmed with mosquitos so I ran back to the car, put on the Picaridin and went back to my place. Mosquitos couldn't be found anywhere near me after that. You can buy it at Dick's or REI.

It might be barren but I do see hints of green in the ground cover. I do agree that this is a good portrait of plateau country in Utah.

Interestingly, I found the most interesting thing on Youtube yesterday. Not Utah, but Colorado. It sure puts it in perspective for neophytes like me. I need to watch again to better understand.
