Dancing With a Storm

I got thirsty looking at the almost endless creosote flats in that video :) I was surprised to see actual puddles out there but then again given all the rain that everyplace else in CA has received I probably should expected even more of them.

Thanks for sharing that.

This is really cool. It's great seeing the transformation from the clips I saw yesterday at your place. Great work on this.

It's kind of funny that we both are expanding into video more. Yours are soaring up in the sky while mine are grounded with feet on the earth video's. :)

Like Jim has pointed out to me before, and I'm surprised he didn't on this, it needs some editing to cut down the time. I fast forwarded through most of the views down on the often boring valley floor (although you did get some nice patterns). I really like the mountains and clouds. What would really be nice would be if you and Jim could share your earth & sky videos shooting at the same place and time!

Jim you are so right. I am by no means a video maker, but I tried it because my drone records it. I wasn't taking the viewer's experience into account. I personally find that terrain fascinating and felt like a bird flying over it all. But yes, it is way too long. Most of my friends couldn't get through it, but didn't want to tell me. I'm going back to making photographs for a while, and will return to video soon, aiming to stick to 3 to 4 minute vids.

Jeffrey, the tough thing about shooting video is that it takes much longer than photos and you need to capture a lot that you can add it down to just the best. Keep at it!
