From my previous post, here are a few images facing away from the sun. This was along the Appalachian Trail at Cross Mtn (around 34-3500" elevation) in TN just before you get into VA. This was from last weekend, Friday evening to be exact. During this short trip, I had planned to do some more photography but it didn't work out that way. However, I was very satisfied with what I captured this evening. The solitude up here was intoxicating. As noted in my previous post, the AT often crosses private land and this is no exception being a working farm. The hay bales and barn gave some nice contrast to the typical AT trail image out in the deep woods.

Looking north, down into Shady Valley (at 2700' elevation), beyond about another 10 or so miles is Damascus, VA.
And though not pastels, I had to capture this walking in. Hand held.
