Coolalinga Falls

Went for a hike yesterday in the Wicklow Hills here in Ireland and pasts by these falls which are a favorite of mine.

I took in black and white as unfortunately I have a brain tumour which is effected my colour vision, balance and energy these days; so i am embracing the mono! Any feedback always welcome. Shots taken using Canon R5 and ND 6 stop filter and tripod (and wellies).

Sorry to hear about your plight with the tumor and its effect on your ability to see color but you appear to be making the most of it with these splendid B&W images. These are some beautiful falls and your work with the B&W renderings is very good.

Can the tumor be removed and reverse the condition? Hope the outcome is good.

Hi Alan. I'm having surgery in a few weeks. Sadly will mean loss of hearing/balance on right side and no recovery with colour vision. Will be on sick leave for quite a few months.

Ouch - hope the procedure goes as well as it can. Good luck!

Nice compositions and the B&W treatment is very well done.

Sorry to hear about your condition and it is a bummer about losing some of your abilities. All the best with your surgery.

I am so sorry to hear about your cancer, Graeme. These are wonderful images, and I am hoping that you can still take more beautiful black and white images after your surgery. Best of luck with your surgery.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you Graeme! Please keep us updated on your surgery, you can share any info in the Sit and Chat section in Community Forum.

I will say it's great that you are getting out and still photographing despite not having the ability to discern color. Are you visually seeing the world in B&W? Or is it a monotone of some color?

Anyway, both of these are really great, and they have the feel of the old masters in how they worked B&W.
