Convict Lake

So...here is the first image I was able to process. Got back from the lake about 3 hours ago. Not much of any cell service there, so I couldn't really update while I was at the location.

That's some sweet light in the sky!
Yeah...that was the tail end of it too. It was more lit up, but I was rushing to get the family tent up for my wife and kids before it got dark. I rushed over to the iconic Convict Lake spot for this shot, and there was still some OK light left. This is from Friday evening. Yesterday evening had very little clouds.

Glad you did - thats an amazing sky. It almost looks like an erupting volcano.
We got to Convict Lake at 6:00PM. I was stressing, because the clouds were looking magnificent. I knew there would be a lot of color for an amazing sky shot with the lake and mountains. I was mass rushing to get the truck unloaded and get the family tent setup. I had to do this before it got dark knowing I may miss the sunset. By the time I finished, all of the amazing light was gone. I managed to get 2 good shots right around 7ish.

That bright red strip near the mountain peak on the right...it was like that all over the sky for ~10 minutes while I was setting up the tent. I was internally mad, because what if we left our house 20 minutes sooner, what if we took 10 minutes at one of our pee stops rather than 20....?

Wow ! So 3D. Light doesn't have to be bright to be perfect. And you really nailed the comp. Well done.
