Convict Lake Sept 29-30 2017

I'm strongly considering a trip to Convict Lake the first or 2nd weekend of this coming October. I've checked the campsite availability, and there are some sites left for both weekends. If I go, I'd have to leave early Saturday morning and head home 10AMish Monday morning.

Anyways...I'm thinking about it, but not completely sure yet.

Which 2 weekends? Oct 1st and Oct 7/8 or Oct 14/15?

Odds are there won't be any fall color the 14/15, only small pockets. If you are going up at that time you might as well shoot fall color.

I would suggest the 7/8 then. The color is the best usually around the 1st of Oct, but each year is different. But there still should be color on the 7/8.

Not sure if I can go, I will if I can, but I could still be in Colorado then.

Well...There were no camp sites available for 10/7 and 10/8, so I got the last one on 9/29 and 9/30. I'll be going in a couple weeks with my family. Anyone that might be up there let me know and we can spend a few hours shooting.
