Thanks Jameel - my wife says that one is called Firecracker as a type of columbine. We only have a few of those. The purple ones have gone feral in our backyard and are all over the place.Nice blooms. That lone red one is my favorite.
Thanks Jim - I like the purple ones since we have so many of them. Like I mentioned above they have gone feral and we have them coming up all over the place in our yard. There is even one blooming from in between paving stones in a walkway.I like the purple ones best, it's cool to see a bunch of them in the image. But the red one does look cool too. It's just both of them are so different from what I am used to, so it's a bit of a visual shock. It will be about 2 months before I can get any shots of them in the mountains in Colorado.
Thanks Kevin - these are hiding in the shade of some cedar trees so somewhat patchy and filtered light.Great shots Alan. I really like the light in both images
Thanks for sharing those images Alan, they are both beautiful although I favor the red one. We have a lot of yellow columbine blossom in our local park garden, I think they are the state flower. I really like the soft light in your images and may have to get up a little earlier and shoot our yellow columbine in that light!A couple of images of columbine blooms in our backyard from a couple of hours ago.

Thanks Larry - we have a couple of 70' cedars in our backyard that provide shade/soft light on a lot of the flowers for the light you see in these shots. Thanks for sharing those images Alan, they are both beautiful although I favor the red one.
