Cold and wet weekend

It seems that most of the Northern Hemisphere is being baked in temperatures of over 100F. If this is too hot then let me suggest the North of England. Last weekend the temperature topped out at 60F and we were treated to a month's rainfall in 2 days. I was visiting my daughter and took the opportunity to visit the nearby Peak District to get a better image of an already captured waterfall.

This is the waterfall in question and some more water would improve it

It is a hike and it involved crossing the river a few times.

However on Saturday things had changed

And when I reached the first river crossing point I decided that it was too dangerous to cross.

I did stay and try and photograph parts of the river so more images to follow. Ken

Sweet stuff and I envy your rain and temperatures. I love the waterfalls and the first image in particular with all of the little cascades down the moss covered rock face. The second image shows a beautiful looking forest scene I'd love to hike around in. Can't wait to see more of your visit to this area.

Yep, it was 102f again at my daughters house in Northern Colorado. So it's refreshing to see these.

It's amazing how the amount of water really changed things. With that much flow I think I would hesitate to cross it. I love that long drop in #1, it's too bad it wasn't safe to get back there with the increased flow.
