As promised in my earlier post, here is the second shot of the area around Crux, the Southern Cross, this time shot with my unmodified Canon R5 and a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 lens at 70mm on a SkyWatcher StarAdventurer 2i. I bought the mount several years ago but have never actually used it successfully because of the difficulty aligning it with the southern celestial pole. I gave it a try now thanks to my acquisition of a doodad that connects your smartphone to the mount to use it as a sort of pole finder. Happily for me the tracking was good enough for 60-second subs at 70mm without negatively affecting the star shapes.

That's great you figured out a way to Polar align that Star Adventure 2i mount. This looks really nice. I think you got 2 winners here.

Excellent! A very different look forms the Polaris shot with the nifty fifty. Is the R5 astro modified? I give a slight nod to the Benro image just due to the framing but this is also a real winner.

PS - I also have a phone doodad for polar alignment that I have yet to try that came from NZ. Perhaps the same one as you have. I hope to use it with my MSM Nomad tracker at some point.
